Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer having a new mechanism permitting a cassette mounting section to be covered with a cover only when a cassette is properly set in the cassette mounting section. SOLUTION: In the tape printer, the slope 202 of a slider 200 slides along the cassette C and pushes out the slider 200 and positions the third insertion opening 204 of the slider 200 and a slider passage 207 beneath the stopper body 301 of a cover stopper 300 when the cassette C is properly set in the cassette mounting section. Consequently, if a user tries to attach the cover 11 to the body 2, the upper end of the stopper body 301 of the cover stopper 300 is pressed by the cover 11, and the lower end portion of the stopper body 301 passes through the third insertion opening 204 of the slider 200 and the slider passage 207 to permit the cassette mounting portion 8 to be covered with the cover 11.
