Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive mailbox having a simple-structured door opening retaining mechanism to be easily attached to the mailbox. SOLUTION: The upper end of a door is extended upward on the inner side of a box to make a locked part, and a locking member having a round flange part made of an resilient material is mounted on the inner side of a slot to take out a mail or the like of the box. in such a way that the locked part abuts on the locking member when the door is opened upward to resiliently deform the locking member and the locked part is locked to the flange part thereafter.
