Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To consider hierarchization of life on earth and to truly simulate properties of life on earth. SOLUTION: Each biomolecule composing an artificial life has a hierarchical structure comprising a plurality of hierarchies of a virtual biological material. A device for simulating artificial life has a table which contains the amount of energy in decomposition from a virtual biological material in higher hierarchy to a plurality of virtual biological materials in lower hierarchy and the amount of energy in composition from a virtual biological material in lower hierarchy to a plurality of virtual biological materials in higher hierarchy. When an incompatibility degree in an environment of an individual exceeds a threshold value or an age of the individual exceeds a predetermined value, the amount of energy in decomposition in the table decomposes the virtual biological material in higher hierarchy into the plurality of virtual biological materials in lower hierarchy, and its data in the table is changed, on the other hand, the amount of energy in composition in the table composes the virtual biological materials in lower hierarchy into the plurality of virtual biological materials in higher hierarchy at a probability in the table corresponding to a mutation, and its data in the table is changed.
