HYDRAULIC CONTROL DEVICE OF TOROIDAL CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic control device of a toroidal continuously variable transmission, restraining the action of an excessive engine brake, by preventing hydraulic pressure supplied to a hydraulic servo from becoming constant pressure or more, even in failure of a pressure regulating valve. SOLUTION: Since this hydraulic control device has a driven side maximum pressure limiting means 58 for limiting the maximum pressure of the hydraulic pressure adjusted by the pressure regulating valve 27 in less than the constant pressure, even if the hydraulic pressure is excessively supplied on the speed reduction side when single failure is caused in the pressure regulating valve 29, the action of the excessive engine brake is restrained by preventing the hydraulic pressure supplied to the hydraulic servo 19 from becoming a specific value or more, and the occurrence of inconvenience such as impairing an operating feeling can be avoided.
