Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphorus-containing polymer greatly increasing bleed-out resistance of a composition added to a thermoplastic rein during use at a high temperature, causing less deterioration in physical properties by addition, and having a flame-retardant effect. SOLUTION: The phosphorus-containing polymer is obtained by performing polycondensation of a phosphorus-containing compound having a 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene skeleton, ethylene glycol, and dihydric alcohol represented by a structural formula 4. In the formula, -A- is -O-, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -CO-, a 1-20C alkylene group, or a 6-20C alkylidene group; each of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7and R8is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a 1-5C monovalent hydrocarbon group; and both of R9and R10are 1-5C bivalent hydrocarbon groups and may be the same or different.
