PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing history information writing device which can achieve reliable traceability by correctly writing manufacturing history information of a magnetic tape wound by a tape reel in a memory of an information recording medium. SOLUTION: The manufacturing history information writing device is constituted so that manufacturing history data Dm1 including information about manufacturing history of a magnetic tape can be written in a memory for recording manufacturing history information of an information recording medium in which a tape reel in a state of winding a magnetic tape and the memory for recording the manufacturing history information are arranged in a case, and it is constituted by including: a read head section 41 which reads the manufacturing history data Dm1 being recorded at least in either of an edge of the magnetic tape or a leader tape connected to the edge; and a writing signal output section 44 which writes the manufacturing history data Dm1 read by the read head section 41 in the memory for recording the manufacturing history information.
