Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber for compatibly minimizing the width of the valve seat of a pressure sensitive release valve provided in a piston to reduce the suction force of the valve seat on a valve plate seated on the valve seat and stabilize the operating performance of the pressure sensitive release valve and securing the length of a throttle release passage as required for stabilizing its operating performance when forming the throttle release passage bypassing the pressure sensitive release valve by using a groove crossing the ring of the valve seat of the pressure sensitive release valve. SOLUTION: The ring of the valve seat of the pressure sensitive release valve has a locally increased width at a portion which the groove of the throttle release passage crosses.
