Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounting rectangular power storage cell which has high mounting area efficiency, miniaturizable and allowing its capacity to be increased by solving a problem wherein miniaturization and capacity increase are difficult because mounting area loss is large, with respect to the surface-mounting coin-type power storage cell to be used for a portable apparatus or the like. SOLUTION: This surface-mounting rectangular power storage cell comprises: a rectangular power storage cell 20; a pair of rectangular frame-like metal cases 14 and 15 arranged vertically, and housing the power storage cell 20 therein; an insulating gasket 16 sealing the pair of metal cases 14 and 15 by being incorporated in open ends thereof; and positive and negative terminal plates 17 and 18 jointed to the pair of metal cases 14 and 15, respectively. By a structure where the insulating gasket 16 is formed into a cross-sectionally nearly-H-like shape having recessed parts for fitting the open ends of the metal cases 14 and 15 therein, and an armoring resin 19 is applied to the whole structure to expose partial parts of the positive and negative terminal plates 17 and 18 to the outer surface as connection terminals, loss of the mounting area can be reduced, and miniaturization and capacity increase can be achieved.
