CLEANING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device capable of obtaining a satisfactory cleaning performance. SOLUTION: The cleaning device includes: a fur brush roller 111 for removing toner on the surface of an intermediate transfer belt 8; and a recovery roller 112 and blade 113 for recovering toner from the brush roller 111. The length L of a first nip part 120 formed by an intermediate transfer belt 8 and a counter roller 23 disposed opposite the fur brush roller 111 with the intermediate transfer belt 8 between them is shorter than the length L2 of a second nip part 130 formed by the fur brush roller 111 and intermediate transfer belt 8. The position of the middle 130M of second nip part 130 is deviated downstream from the position of the middle 120M of a first nip part 120 in the moving direction of the intermediate transfer belt 8.
