LUBRICANT APPLICATION DEVICE, AND CLEANING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS PROVIDED THEREWITH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize dispersion of the lubricant application quantity to an image carrier surface while regulating thrust-directional displacement of a solid lubricant contacting with an application brush with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The solid lubricant 92 supported to be displaceable along the contact direction to the application brush is energized in the contact direction with the application brush by a spring, the solid lubricant is rubbed by rotating the application brush, and the lubricant powder adhered to the application brush thereby is applied onto a surface of an intermediate transfer belt. A displacement regulation means for regulating the thrust-directional displacement of the solid lubricant regulates the displacement of the solid lubricant by bringing a regulation part 85b fixed to a cleaning case into contact with a pin 95 provided in a part except both thrust directional ends of a bracket 93 to which the solid lubricant is fixed from the thrust direction.
