METAL GASKET FOR CYLINDER HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal gasket of low cost, with a high degree of freedom in control of step quantity. SOLUTION: The metal gasket for a cylinder head comprises two basal plates 2, overlapped with each other, each comprising cylinder holes 2a formed to a cylinder block, circular beads 2b formed around them in a mountain-shaped section, cooling water holes 2c formed along the outer periphery, and outer circumferential beads 2d having a half-diagonal section surrounding the circular beads and cooling water holes as a whole, and a metal plate. An auxiliary plate is inserted between the two base plates, and a resin layer comprising a polyimide resin film is provided as attached to at least one surface of the auxiliary plate by pressure and heat to circularly surround the cylinder hole in the basal plate to extend from a radially inward position of the circular bead to a corresponding position to the cooling water jacket to overlap with the circular bead, and face a top part of the circular bead. The circular beads 2b on the two base plates 2 are held by the cylinder block and the cylinder head to be totally compressed while holding the resin layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
