Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for utilizing waste MgO-C brick which can be utilized not only as substituted raw material of Mg alloy, but also, as a heat-holding material. SOLUTION: When molten iron is transported from a blast furnace to a steel-making factory by using a molten iron transporting vessel, the pulverized waste MgO-C brick is charged into the molten iron transporting vessel as the heat-holding material so as to hold the temperature of the molten iron. The waste MgO-C brick can effectively be utilized as a substitutional raw material of the heat-holding material such as burnt paddy or paper sludge, etc., by charging the pulverized waste MgO-C brick into the molten iron transporting vessel. Further, in the steel-making factory, this waste MgO-C brick can be utilized as the substitutional raw material of a high cost Mg alloy by charging into a converter without discharging the waste MgO-C brick as the slag.
