Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, in a method of making copper oxide, micrometer-sized copper oxide particles having a plurality of projections on the surface of each particle and to provide a method for morphological control thereof. SOLUTION: In an aqueous reaction including microwave irradiation or heating process, hexamethylenetetramine is added to the aqueous solution. The morphologically controlled copper-containing particulate material contains 2 or more projections having a tip angle of not larger than 45° and a length of 0.01-0.5 μm and has a median particle diameter of 0.5-5 μm as measured on aggregates thereof.
