Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cubic boehmite which can raise a filling degree in materials to be filled such as a synthetic resin and the like and which can suppress the lowering of the physical properties of the materials to be filled caused by filling and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The cubic boehmite is characterized by having a major axis of 1.3-3.5 μm, an aspect ratio (major axis/thickness) of 2.00-3.50, a ratio of major axis to minor axis (major axis/minor axis) of 1.68-1.37 and a ratio of minor axis to thickness (minor axis/thickness) of 1.42-2.55. The manufacturing method of the cubic boehmite is characterized in that water content is predetermined so that sodium ion concentration in a reaction filtrate after boehmite generation becomes 0.001-0.100 mass% and that hydrothermal synthesis is performed by using aluminum hydroxide as a raw material.
