COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND REMOTE PROGRAM UPDATE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and surely transmit the control program of the newest version number of a communication apparatus forming a communication network as a node apparatus to an object communication apparatus without increasing the traffic of the communication network, and to surely update the control program with the control program of the newest version number in the transmitter. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus 100 specifies the communication apparatus of a transmission destination in an ID insertion unit 103, embeds updating configuration data in the free bytes of SONET/SDH or OTN in a multiplexer interface unit 107, multiplexes them in normal communication data and transmits them. The communication apparatus of the transmission destination which receives the updating configuration data confirms that they are the updating configuration data for the present apparatus in an ID extraction unit 104 and then updates the configuration data in an FPGA unit 102.
