PROJECTION TYPE VIDEO DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin projection type video display apparatus having a highly precise structure with high strength. SOLUTION: This projection type video display apparatus includes: a screen 5 for projecting images, a laser beam source 1, a laser beam source driving circuit 6, and a TV circuit 7 arranged behind a central part of the screen 5, an optical engine 3 including a display device 4 arranged behind a lower part of the screen 5 and driven by the TV circuit, and optical fibers 2 for transmitting the illumination light emitted from the laser beam source 1 to the display device 4. An outer peripheral part of the screen 5 is held by a screen frame 8. The optical engine 3 is installed in an optical engine base 9 connecting its front side with a lower side of the screen frame 8 and extended behind the lower side. The laser beam source 1, the laser beam source driving circuit 6, and the TV circuit 7 are provided on a plate member 12 installed between at least two diagonal braces 10a for connecting both end parts of an upper side of the screen frame 8 with a rear end part of the optical engine base 9.
