Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a worm gear capable of increasing its bending strength by reducing the bending stress of a tooth on a worm wheel side. SOLUTION: The worm gear includes a so-called Niemann-type worm shaft 20 having a thread 21 of a tooth profile 22 with tooth flanks 23a, 23b formed in a concave arc shapes, and a worm wheel 15 meshed with the worm shaft 20 with the tooth profile with its tooth flank formed in a convex arc shape corresponding to the tooth profile 22 on the worm shaft 20 side. The tooth flank clearance between tooth flanks on the meshing side between the worm shaft 20 and the worm wheel 15 is set so that the exit-side clearance G2 forming a meshing end is smaller than the entrance-side clearance G1 forming the meshing start.
