IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and its control method preventing abnormality of conveying (jamming) from being generated when paper is conveyed on a guide having a curved part and preventing reduction of productivity concerning abnormality of conveying (jamming). SOLUTION: The image forming device has the curved guide for guiding the paper; a conveying roller arranged at an entrance part and an exit part of the guide and conveying the paper; and an input means for inputting direction information of a fiber constituting the paper. The conveying roller at at least entrance part of the conveying rollers has a nip pressure variation means for varying a nip pressure for nipping the paper, and the image forming device has a control means for controlling the nip pressure variation means so as to vary the nip pressure according to the direction information of the fiber input by the input means.
