Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet type rotating machine which can enhance output torque by preventing reduction of leakage flux while ensuring a centrifugal force resistant performance even if a structure for enhancing demagnetization resistance by burying three permanent magnets in one through-hole in a rotor is employed. SOLUTION: One first permanent magnet 1 made of a material having a large energy product is buried in the center each of a plurality of through-holes 7 which are bored, at a predetermined interval, in the circumferential direction of a rotor to have a substantially rectangular cross section having a longitudinal direction extending along the circumferential direction, and two second permanent magnets made of a material with large coercive force are buried in contact with the opposite ends of the first permanent magnet 1. Furthermore, air gaps 8 having a predetermined length are formed at the opposite ends of the through-hole 7 in the longitudinal direction, and a groove 3 becoming a notch is formed at the outer edge of the rotor located on the interpole center line A in the radial direction connecting the center of the rotor and the central part between two adjoining through-holes 7.
