IMAGING APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely record a picked-up original image and an image which is obtained by synthesizing additional image with the original image. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises an additional information generating section for generating additional information to be synthesized with an image to be recorded, and a recording processing section in which, when a request for recording a picked up image is detected, a main image 110 based on image information in all the regions of a source image obtained from a solid-state imaging device and a sub image based on image information in at least part of regions of the source image are generated, additional information is combined with any one of the main image 110 and the sub image, and image data of the main image 110 and the sub image are recorded in a recording device. As additional information, e.g., date information 101 indicating a date of photographing is generated.
