Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optoelectronic device coated with silicone resin whose low-molecular weight is specified, a method for coating the device, and a silicone resin composition. SOLUTION: A silicone resin composition for coating a light-transmissing front surface of an optoelectronic device and a method for coating the same are provided. The method includes processes of coating silicone resin on a light-transmissing front surface, curing the silicone resin, and forming a light-transmissing protective film on the light-transmissing front surface. A portion of organosiloxanes in the silicone resin is sufficiently low, whose molecular weight is about 1,000 or smaller. The content of organosiloxanes siloxane, whose molecular weight is about 1,000 or smaller, in the protective film is lower than 10%.
