PROCESSING METHOD OF SPONGE TITANIUM INGOT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of processing a sponge titanium ingot capable of enhancing the yield and improving the quality as a rolling material. SOLUTION: In the processing method of a sponge titanium ingot, the bottom surface shape of the sponge titanium ingot manufactured by a reaction vessel with a roaster on the bottom part is measured. A cutting thickness is set by moving a cutting edge in the axial direction of the sponge titanium ingot, and its bottom surface is cut so that difference of the cutting thickness between the central part of the bottom surface and peripheral part of the bottom surface becomes small. If the measurement of the bottom surface shape is performed by measuring the depth of recess at the center of the bottom part, the measurement can be performed easily and conveniently.
