Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base fabric for mop which has a superior wiping property of oily and watery dirt and a superior dust trapping performance and is capable of suppressing the deterioration of the strength and performance even under sever conditions such as repeated washing by linen suppliers. SOLUTION: This mop base fabric is formed of a piled fabric using a false twisted crimped polyester multifilament yarn formed of polyester whose primary repeat unit is ethylene terephthalate, as a pile yarn and a ground yarn, wherein the pile yarn formed of the false twisted crimped polyester multifilament yarn having a monofilament fineness of 0.1-0.6 dtex, a limiting viscosity number [η] of 0.58-0.65 dl/g, and a ratio of 80 mass% or more, and the ground yarn formed of the false twisted crimped polyester multifilament yarn having a monofilament fineness of 1.5-5.0 dtex.
