METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAKING PERFORMANCE OF PACKET COMMUNICATION SYSTEM IMPROVED

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system using a multi-access packet reservation type protocol. SOLUTION: A physical channel required for packet transfer is to be specially assigned to one mobile station (called as "VIP MS"). The VIP MS has an exclusive priority order for using these physical channels if needed, which are assigned for packet data. Thereby the "VIP MS" always has band width negotiated so as to be always used for packet transfer. The VIP MS is further given the maximum exclusive priority order (VIP priority order) for accessing to these physical channels by assigning a reserved random access channel only used for the VIP MS (for example, on an assigned uplink channel), thereby various variable random access delays which are generated in a conventional mobile station are not generated.
