DEVELOPING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND DEVELOPING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain toner scattering and fog from a toner-carrying roller in a developing device, an image forming apparatus and a developing method, using the toner carrying roller provided with irregularities on the surface. SOLUTION: The developing device includes a storing part for storing toner; the toner carrying roller rotated, while carrying a toner layer due to electrification toner on the surface by being formed in a substantially cylindrical shape, having a plurality of projections arranged regularly and recesses surrounds the projections on the surface; and a regulating member for regulating the thickness of the toner layer, by being contacted on the toner layer of the toner carrying roller. The regulating member regulates the toner layer carried on the projections out of the surface of the toner carrying roller to one layer of the toner or fewer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
