Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overvoltage protection circuit utilizing an N-channel MOSFET as a switch transistor. SOLUTION: The switch transistor M1 as an N-channel MOSFET is provided between an input terminal 102 and an output terminal 104. A clamping circuit 40 clamps an input voltage Vdc to a predetermined clamp voltage Vcl or lower. A charge pump circuit 10 steps up an output voltage Vdc2 of the clamping circuit 40, and outputs the stepped-up voltage to a gate of the switch transistor M1. An overvoltage monitoring section 20 compares the input voltage Vdc with a predetermined overvoltage threshold value Vovp, and instructs the charge pump circuit 10 to perform a voltage step-up operation if the input voltage Vdc is lower than the overvoltage threshold voltage Vovp.
