Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tappet to be suitably used in a fluid pump and a pump assembly having the tappet. SOLUTION: The tappet 60 includes a sidewall portion 62 and end faces 64, 66, 72 forming its internal chamber, wherein the end faces 64, 66, 72 include a driving surface 66 to make cooperation with the drive constitution when the tappet is in service and a plurality of vents 68 passing through the end faces 64, 66, 72 and feeds fluid between the internal chamber 70 and the outside region of the tappet 60. A plurality of longitudinally stretching grooves 76 are formed at the inner surface of the sidewall portion 62, and brought in communication with the vents 68 so as to form a flow passage for allowing the fluid to flow into the internal chamber 70.
