DISK DRIVING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate handling of a control area more and to efficiently adjust the data format of a user area in a HDD where the data track pitch and the servo track pitch of the user area are different. SOLUTION: According to an embodiment of the present invention, the servo and data track pitches of user areas 115a and 115b are different. The data track pitch is adjusted according to characteristics of a head slider and a recording surface. The recording surface includes, in addition to a user area for storing user data, a control area 116 for storing firmware or parameters. The position of the control area on the recording surface is defined by servo data.
