DOOR LATCH DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door latch device for a vehicle enabling unnatural hitting hoise generated when a vehicle door is closed to be suppressed without increasing the size. SOLUTION: This door latch device for a vehicle comprises: a latch 14 which is freely rotatably supported on a housing and to which a striker 10 is fitted; a pole 17 freely rotatably supported on the housing through a shaft part 17b and engageable with the latch 14 to restrain the rotation of the latch 14; a coil spring 19 having a winding part 19a into which the shaft part 17b is inserted and a first locking leg part 19b locked to the pole 17 and a second locking leg part 19c extending further radial outward than the winding part 19a and locked to the housing, and always rotatingly biasing the pole 17 in the direction in which the latch 14 is engaged; and a projecting wall 21 formed in the housing and brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the winding part 19a of the coil spring 19.
