SOLUTION: The polycarbonate having a component originated from a plant is prepared by melting-polymerizing/condensing a diol comprising dianhydrohexytols and carbonic acid diester relative to 1 mol of the diol in the presence of 50-500 μmol of a nitrogen-containing basic compound and 1.2-40 μmol of a total amount of an alkali metal element and an alkaline earth metal element.
