IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and display method capable of shortening the time until displaying an initial picture on a display unit during power-on. SOLUTION: In a case where a reset signal sent from a main control unit is in a reset cancel state, in power-on, where reset processing due to main control unit has been completed, a liquid crystal display (LCD) control unit 1211 sends out an address signal indicating an address for reading display data stored in a display data storage unit 1212, a trigger signal indicating timing to read the display data, a validity signal indicating that display of the display data is valid, and a display timing signal indicating timing to display the display data. On the basis of the trigger signal, display data corresponding to the address signal are read from the display data storage unit 1212 and on the basis of a validity period signal and display timing signal, an LCD 122 displays the read display data thereon.
