COMMUNICATION ADAPTER FOR NAVIGATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication adapter capable of concurrently connecting, to a navigation apparatus, a module type communication device and the conventional mobile phone terminal. SOLUTION: The communication adapter 1 includes an interface 4 for the navigation apparatus, an interface 6 for a radio communication module, and an interface 8 for a mobile phone terminal. The communication adapter is configured to further include an adapter control unit 306 which is connected with the interface 4 and the interface 6 and performs conversion between data signals supported thereby; a PCM codec 302 which is connected to a PCM interface 228 that the interface 6 includes; and an analog switch 304 for switching analog audio connection between an analog interface 322 that the PCM codec 302 or the interface 8 for the mobile phone terminal has and the navigation apparatus 2, in response to an instruction from the adapter control unit 306.
