SOLUTION: In the lithium secondary battery in which the electrode body made by winding a laminated body including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator in a spiral shape is housed in a battery container 14, a space member 6 is arranged between the positive electrode and the negative electrode so that a gap layer with a thickness larger than an increasing amount of the thickness of the electrode involved in battery charging is formed, and positions of the positive electrode and the negative electrode in this state are fixed by a support plate 10.
