Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a coated cutting tool capable of reducing crater wear, flank wear, and fritting by reducing macro particles in and on a coating to reduce the amount of pits, voids, and pores in the coating, and also capable of depositing a thick PVD coating on the tool without producing the fritting and spalling. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a coated cutting tool comprises a step of preparing a base and a step of depositing the coating on the base by using a negative electrode arc evaporation PVD deposition method. The coating is a nitride, an oxide, a boride, a carbide, a carbonitride, a carboxynitride, or the combination thereof.
