Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a degenerate mutant DNA encoding a protein involved in glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) biosynthesis with a decreased AT content compared to an original DNA encoding a protein involved in GPI biosynthesis, and a method of screening for an antimalarial drug using the degenerate mutant DNA. SOLUTION: Provided are a DNA encoding a protein having activity of GPI acyltransferase which is one of GPI biosynthesis enzyme in a falciparum malaria parasite, a protein encoded by the DNA, a transformant holding a vector inserted with the DNA in expressable form (particularly, a yeast deficient in GPI synthase gene), and a method of screening for antimalarial drugs using the protein and transformant.
