Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature sensor device for an engine which is suitable for detecting an accidental fire of the engine and has a relatively simple constitution. SOLUTION: A circular-tube-shaped probe part 12 lengthened long and thin is provided integrally on the tip side of a metal housing 11, while a connector part 13 for connection with ECU 9 is provided on the base end side of the housing. A diaphragm 15 made from SUS is provided at the tip part of the probe part 12 and a temperature detecting element 16 formed of a thin-film thermistor is provided on the back side of the diaphragm. Inside the housing 11, a signal processing circuit 17 for processing a signal from the temperature detecting element 16 is provided and it is connected electrically by a wiring member 19 passed through the inside of the probe part 12. The probe part 12 is so disposed that the tip part thereof faces the inside of a cylinder room 1 of the engine, and the ECU 9 performs detection of the accidental fire, based on the signal from the temperature sensor device 10.
