COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND POWER-LINE COMMUNICATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a power line communication device which can reduce power consumption, as compared with prior art. SOLUTION: When a main switch 32 is turned on by a user, a commercial current is supplied from a power line PL to the power supply section 31 of a multifunctional device 11 through a cable 13. The power supply section 31 supplies power to a control board 33, as well as, to the power supply line of a cable 15. A power line communication device 12 has a power supply section 41, and a switch 42 which is turned on, when power is supplied to the power supply line of the cable 15 and turned off, when power supply to the power supply line of the cable 15 is interrupted. The power line communication device 12 has a section 43 for mutually converting the communication system among the power-line communication with other apparatuses via a cable 14 and the communication with the multifunction device 11 via the data communication line of the cable 15.
