Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine, which solves a problem of the sootiness of a spark plug and improves ignition to fuel-air mixture. SOLUTION: The ignition coil 11 for the internal combustion engine is constructed by magnetically coupling a primary coil 14 to a secondary coil 16 via a laminated iron core 21. The secondary coil 16 is composed of a first split secondary coil 17 and a second split secondary coil 18 that are connected in parallel to each other. On the first split secondary coil 17, a secondary voltage rises quickly but its discharge time is short.
