PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo control unit for reaching a desired layer stably and quickly to perform servo control even if the types of respective information layers are different in an optical recording medium having many information layers, and to provide an information reproducing unit, a servo control method, a servo control program, and an information recording medium in which the servo control program is recorded. SOLUTION: The servo control device has a constitution in which when the types of layers of an information recording medium identified by identifying means are different from one another and when the focus position of light emitted from light-emitting means is moved across the information layers, control means controls the rotational speed of the information recording medium to the one of when the information recorded in the movement-destination information layer is reproduced by means of rotating mean and moves the focus positions to the movement-destination information layer by means of moving means.
