TICKET GATE AND METHOD OF CHECKING TICKET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ticket gate that is capable of enhancing user convenience and the efficiency of checking tickets for improved flowability of users through a ticket-gate passage and that is inexpensive to introduce, and a method of checking tickets. SOLUTION: The ticket gate performs wireless communication with a wireless medium and determines whether or not passage through the ticket gate is permitted according to information read from the wireless medium. The ticket gate has a first wireless communication processing unit 110 for making wireless communication with the wireless medium in a first frequency band and a second wireless communication processing unit 120 for performing wireless communication with the wireless medium in a second frequency band different from the first frequency band. Antenna units 113, 123 provided respectively in the first wireless communication processing unit 110 and the second wireless communication processing unit 120 are installed in different positions.
