Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof structure of a wire lead-in portion and a method of the installation work therefor wherein rain water and the like can be reliably prevented from entering a building through an opening in a roof. SOLUTION: Doughnut-shaped spacer packing is placed in the gap between a roofing material and an under-roof material on the under face side of a circular opening formed in the roofing material so that the opening is encircled therewith. The inside diameter of the elastic spacer packing is substantially equal to the bore of the opening in the roofing material. The intermediate portion of a cylindrical stem body having a flange formed on the outer circumferential surface of the lower edge thereof is tightly inserted into the packing. The cylindrical stem body for inserting a wire on the roof is inserted upward from a circular stem body inlet formed in the under-roof material in a position corresponding to the opening in the roofing material. The flange on the outer circumferential surface of the lower edge of the cylindrical stem body is fixedly attached to the rim of the stem body inlet in the under face of the under-roof material. The upper part of the stem body is so constructed that it is protruded upward from the opening and can be screwed into a lock nut.
