Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device for an automatic transmission, which prevents enlargement of the automatic transmission itself by layout of two engagement elements adjacent mutually on the same axis. SOLUTION: A torque cam device 8 is arranged between a first and second brakes B1, B2 adjacent mutually on the same axis. A torque cam body 81 of the torque cam device is arranged rotatably in both directions around the axis, 16 cam grooves 814, 815 are arranged at circumferentially equal intervals in vertical faces of one side and the other side in the axial direction of the torque cam body, and spherical bodies 816a, 816b are accommodated within each cam groove. A gradually decreasing part 814b wherein the depth gradually decreases as going to the normal rotational direction of the torque cam body from the deepest part 814a immersing the spherical body is arranged in each cam groove in the vertical face on one side in the axial direction, whereas a gradually decreasing part 815b wherein the depth gradually decreases as going to the normal rotational direction of the torque cam body from the deepest part 815a immersing the spherical body is arranged in each cam groove in the vertical face on the other side in the axial direction.
