PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device capable of more reducing layout area. SOLUTION: The semiconductor device comprises: a substrate SUB having a principal surface S1; a memory element M1 which is disposed to be away from the principal surface S1 of the substrate SUB and stores data, a write current line DL ; and a drive transistor DLDTR0 which has a conductive electrode supplying a data write current for writing data to the memory element M1 to the write current line DL and formed on the principal surface S1 of the substrate SUB, and is disposed below the memory element M1.
