POSITION DETECTION SYSTEM AND POSITION DETECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection system simplified by use of an LCX (Leaky CoaXial cable). SOLUTION: This position detection system has: a mobile terminal; and a base station performing wireless communication with the leaky coaxial cable as an antenna. The leaky coaxial cable has: a termination inputted with an electric signal from the base station; and the other end configured such that the electric signal propagating inside its own cable is reflected. The mobile terminal has: a direct wave reception means receiving a direct wave emitted into a space from the leaky coaxial cable; a reflected wave reception means receiving a reflected wave emitted into the space by the electric signal reflected by the termination of the leaky coaxial cable; and a time information transmission means transmitting information showing time when the direct wave is received and information showing time when the reflected wave is received to the base station. The base station has: a signal transmission means transmitting the electric signal through the leaky coaxial cable; a time information reception means receiving time information; and a calculation means calculating position information of the mobile terminal based on the time information.
