Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a health state measuring device capable of simply measuring the moisture amount of stool in a non-contact state at the time of evacuation without sampling stool and capable of knowing the health state of a person, and to provide a health state measuring method. SOLUTION: The health state measuring device M is constituted so as to measure the moisture amount of stool in a non contact state during evacuation and has a gas sensor 5 for measuring the concentration of a predetermined component in the gas together broken during evacuation, a memory device 7 preliminarily storing predetermined component concentration-moisture amount conversion data, and a control part 8 for operating the moisture estimate value of stool from the concentration of the predetermined component and conversion data measured by the gas sensor.
