Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device using a fluorescent light emitting device with stable luminance and high illumination effect. SOLUTION: An UV-LED array 15 is arranged at the lower side of a top plate 3 of a case 2 as an excitation light generating source. A lens unit 23 is arranged at a position separated spatially from the UV-LED array 15. The lens unit 23 is provided with a convex lens 25 and a SWPF (short wave pass filter) 30 is formed at the upper layer (UV-LED array 15 side) of the convex lens 25 and an LWPF (long wave pass filter) 31 is formed at the front face of the convex lens 25. Ultraviolet light (excited light) transmitted through the SWPF 30 generates white fluorescence in a phosphor layer 29, and reaches the front as illumination light transmitting through the LWPF 31. Ultraviolet light that has not excited fluorescence in the phosphor layer 29 is reflected by the LWPF 31 and returned back to the phosphor layer 29 direction.
