BILL PROCESSOR AND BILL PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill processor and a bill processing method for shortening processing time required for a money reception/payment operation. SOLUTION: The processor for discriminating each of received bills to store them in a plurality of bill storages respectively, and paying them as exchange includes: a bill slot 2 into which a plurality of bills can be inserted; a received money discrimination part 14 discriminating denomination of the bills inserted from the slot 2; a mixture storage 11 storing the discriminated bills by denomination; a money payment reject storage 12; a thousand-yen bill storage 13; a bill dispensing slot 3 dispensing the bills delivered as exchange from the storages 11, 13; and a conveying path conveying each bill in a last-in first-out manner. The mixture storage 11 stores the bills inserted from the slot 2 and discriminated as the denomination not to be used for the exchange by the discrimination part 14 together with the bills of the denomination available for the exchange.
