Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance display quality by enhancing adhesiveness of an insulating film, provided between a pair of electrodes in a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display, a liquid crystal is interposed between a pair of substrates opposed to each other and the pair of electrodes driving the liquid crystal are provided on one substrate of the pair of substrates via an FFS insulating film. An element substrate 10 which is one substrate of the pair of substrates includes a light transmissible substrate 18, a pixel TFT 20 formed thereon, a passivation film 38, a planarization film 40, a pixel electrode 42, the FFS insulating film 44 and a common electrode 46. The FFS insulating film 44 formed between the pixel electrode 42 and the common electrode 46 is a film having 0 to 5×104N/cm2compressive stress. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
