Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium retreat part in a recording medium conveyance path, and to constitute it with a plurality of recording media being retreatable, when faulty conveyance is detected. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with the recording medium retreat part so constituted that the recording medium in the recording medium conveyance path can retreat, when a faulty conveyance detecting part detects the faulty conveyance, wherein a plurality of recording medium retreat parts are provided in the recording medium conveyance path and are constituted so that the plurality of recording medium are retreatable.
