CARGO CONTAINER FOR TRANSPORTING TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE ITEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cargo container for transporting temperature sensitive items, which has high insulation in a relatively thin wall structure. SOLUTION: A housing stores a molded box-shaped composite outer shell 54. The outer shell stores a molded box-shaped composite inner shell 56 defining a cargo chamber. Corresponding walls of the inner and outer shells limit insulation cassettes 145-148 wherein each includes a vacuum insulation panel forming a layer, and all layers are protected by a plastic sheet and a plastic film. Air is circulated by a blower in the cargo chamber through a refrigeration evaporator and an electric heating element, and a rear section of the housing encloses an operating element having a refrigeration compressor 240, a storage battery, and an exhaust fan 244. A control system senses temperature in the cargo chamber, and smoke and humidity outside the cargo container, and controls the operation of the compressor, the exhaust fan, and other elements by the storage battery or an external power source.
